On March 2 and 3, the Hobart Vintage Machinery Society will be hosting the largest display of vintage machinery and farmhouse memorabilia in Southern Tasmania at the rural property, Summer Hill, on Richmond Road, Cambridge.
The theme for this event is ‘Then and Now ‘. Patrons will be able to view the old machinery along side the most modern machinery and marvel at the changes in technology over the years.
There will be numerous working displays throughout the day with commentary provided.
A bullock team, draught horses and tractors will be doing ploughing demonstrations while a Steam Engine will be chugging away and a blacksmith will be working away with his forge and anvil.
Families with young children will be catered for with an animal nursery, mechanical organ, a hay ride and the opportunity to taste fairy floss after seeing it being made.
Make it a day out by visiting the Expo then spending time in the historic town of Richmond and visit the many attractions with an abundance of food, restaurants and wineries to tempt your palate.
